
LAHAD DATU: The district Fire and Rescue Station carried out its second annual programme ‘Jelajah Bandar Lahad Datu’ that aims to ensure the fitness level of members at an optimal level.
Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Sumsoa Rashid, said the programme on Thursday night involved 30 firefighters.
“All members, wearing fire suit and carry the breathing apparatus (respirator), were required to walk 4.5km to Lahad Datu town.
“This programme not only aims to ensure our fitness at an optimum level but also aims to foster the spirit of teamwork and friendship among all members,” he said.
He said all members cooperated well and showed enthusiasm to ensure the success of the programme.
He said their cheerfulness along the way showed that fatigue failed to put a damper on their spirits so the programme is worth repeating every year.
