Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu on Sunday said the enthusiasm among aspirants for contesting civic body elections on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) symbol had paved foundation for formation of the party’s government in the state in 2027.
Addressing a gathering of ten candidates and their supporters, Bittu said BJP had insisted on fielding candidates on party symbol so the message about the BJP government in the state reached every household.
“We will also send special grants for wards of our winning candidates so they can work for bringing the party in power,” added Bittu.
Hitting out at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Bittu said several states, which were once behind Punjab, had bettered it in almost all parameters of development.
He expressed regret claiming the state’s debt had swollen to unprecedented levels during the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regime. He alleged the party failed to keep any of the promises made before the Assembly elections.
Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concern about the esteem of Sikhs, Bittu said turbaned people had started feeling honoured and safe across the nation after Congress and its allies were ousted from the Centre in 2014.
Bittu called upon residents of the area to support BJP candidates so they can facilitate overall development in their wards.
