THE Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Steven Sim Chee Keong, has been admitted to hospital after weeks of what he described as an intense work schedule.
The development was shared by the minister himself in a Facebook post on Friday, where he indicated that his health required attention and temporary rest.
“After weeks of being busy with work, I finally had to be admitted to hospital on the fourth day of Chinese New Year. The doctor has advised me to take a short rest.
“I'll be back soon, stronger! Jalan terus! Kebaikan akan menyusul selepas musibah (“Keep going! Goodness will follow after hardship”),” he wrote briefly.
Sim did not disclose the nature of his condition, but his message struck an optimistic tone, suggesting he intends to resume duties once he has recovered.
The minister has maintained a demanding public schedule in recent weeks, coinciding with official engagements and festive commitments during the Chinese New Year period. - February 20, 2026
