Desaku Mendunia, when loosely translated, means 'My Village Goes Global'. That is the theme of the upcoming Hari Peneroka Felda (Felda Settlers' Day), scheduled for July 30-Aug 3 at the Malaysia Trade and International Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur.
The main highlight is Karnival Mega 3 Dimensi - an event involving not only Felda but also the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) and the Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry (KUSKOP). It is set to witness a massive gathering of local entrepreneurs nationwide.

Bullish as it may sound, the theme Desaku Mendunia also carries a specific mission – to see entrepreneurs from Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) settlements nationwide market their products internationally.

"The main goal is to see entrepreneurs showcasing their products at this year's Hari Peneroka Felda quickly graduate to the next phase of their business journey, so that we can see new faces at the next edition of Hari Peneroka Felda," said Felda chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

Known for his out-of-the-box ideas and passion for marketing Malaysia abroad, Ahmad Shabery said the natural progression was for Malaysian brands to find their footing outside the country and eventually ‘conquer’ other regions.

Many Malaysian businesses – including small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with humble beginnings – have turned into international brands.

"It has been done (selling local products abroad), and it can be done with entrepreneurs from Felda settlements. It's whether we want to dream big or not."

Ahmad Shabbery added that such collaboration is a shining example of the inclusive spirit at the heart of Malaysia Madani, where no one is left behind, and every voice, especially from the grassroots, is given the space to thrive.

"We’re truly grateful to have the support of KKDW and KUSKOP as we embark on this transformative journey to uplift and empower our local entrepreneurs, especially those from rural areas and Felda settlements. Together, we’re not just creating opportunities; we’re building pathways to success, resilience, and long-term impact.

“Our mission is to unleash the full potential of our entrepreneurs by giving them a stage to shine and be seen. With the right spotlight and support, this isn’t just a platform — it’s a launchpad for them to elevate their businesses, expand their reach, and turn ambition into meaningful impact.”

SMEs form 97 per cent of Malaysia's businesses and contribute significantly to its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Malaysia is now on a quest to ensure no SMEs are left behind in its digitalisation journey, as the country's digital economy is projected to contribute 25.5 per cent of the GDP by the end of 2025.

The Director General of Felda, Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman highlighted that the Felda Settlers’ Day is more than just a celebration; it is a powerful stage for women entrepreneurs to rise, shine, and showcase their impact. She emphasised that these women are not just participants in the economy but they are driving forces, shaping the future of the nation with their vision, resilience, and determination.

“Women entrepreneurs, including those from Felda communities, are boldly breaking barriers and thriving across industries. Often, all it takes is the right spark of support and direction. That’s why I’m thrilled about this year’s Karnival Mega 3 Dimensi, a dynamic platform designed to empower, uplift, and open new doors for these incredible changemakers.”

The annual Hari Peneroka Felda attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. Organisers expect some 2 million people at this year's edition. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to attend the event on Aug 2.

In anticipation of the large turnout, Mitec and the organising team have planned a coordinated logistics schedule that includes Mitec providing vouchers for the use of e-hailing services and shuttle services.
