Enumerators, supervisors not coming for Census duty to face FIRs

With the field survey under the first phase of Digital Census-2027 (house listing and housing Census) to commence from May 15, Municipal Corporation (MC) officials said enumerators and supervisors not coming for Census duties will face FIRs under the Census Act, 1948.

The Census duties have been allotted to the enumerators/ supervisors and blocks have been allotted to them too.

The civic body officials said kits had been distributed to the enumerators and those not showing up to collect the kits and perform their duties would have to face FIRs under the Census Act.

Meanwhile, MC Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Neeru Katyal Gupta said residents could do self-enumeration till May 14 and the field survey (door to door) will be held from May 15 to June 13.

Dr Gupta appealed to the residents to cooperate with the enumerators and provide accurate information. If the residents have completed self-enumeration, they would only have to share the SE-ID with the enumerators.
