As organizations across Southeast Asia continue adapting to hybrid work models, tighter IT budgets, and stronger sustainability targets, Epson has introduced a new “Dust-Free, Heat-Free, and Stress-Free printing” strategy aimed at helping businesses extract greater efficiency from their office printing environments.

The initiative places significant emphasis on indoor air quality, an issue that is gaining attention in increasingly dense office spaces. According to Epson, a study conducted by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology and Testing evaluated several of the company’s printers – including the Epson AM-C4000, Epson AM-C400, and Epson L6490 – and found extremely low levels of detectable fine and ultrafine dust particle emissions under controlled chamber testing conditions.

The company says its Dust-Free approach is designed to support cleaner printing environments, which may help reduce distractions and improve comfort for employees who spend extended hours indoors.

Energy efficiency is another key component of the strategy. The brand’sbusiness inkjet printers use the company’s Heat-Free Technology, which eliminates the need for heat during the ink ejection process. By removing the warm-up phase required by many conventional printing systems, Epson says power consumption can be reduced by as much as 85 percent while allowing printers to start operating almost immediately. For businesses attempting to balance productivity with energy cost control, this could translate into more predictable operating expenses.

Reliability and maintenance are also addressed through a simplified print system design. Epson states that its business inkjet printers incorporate up to 59% fewer moving parts compared with traditional laser printers, which helps reduce the likelihood of mechanical failures while lowering maintenance demands over time.

The company also highlights potential cost efficiencies related to printer fleet management. Epson notes that many organizations continue to rely heavily on larger A3 printers even though approximately 98% of typical office print jobs are A4 documents. Right-sizing printer fleets to better match real usage patterns, Epson claims, could reduce costs by as much as 53 percent.

To support this transition, Epson offers its Right Fleet Solution, a service that begins with a complimentary assessment of an organization’s existing printing environment, followed by specialists analyzing device usage, identifying underutilized equipment and hidden operational costs, and then designing an optimized fleet configuration based on real-world print data. The process concludes with a proposal outlining potential cost savings, electricity reductions, and projected return on investment.
