Kota Kinabalu: Knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions and identify legitimate investment opportunities is crucial against scammer scammers.
Universiti Malaysia Sabah Financial Management and Banking lecturer Dr Izaan Azyan Abdul Jamil said while the government and NGOs have initiated programmes on financial growth and saving, it is essential to go the extra mile by teaching how to protect hard-earned money.
“All financial authorities and regulators must actively engage with NGOs, bankers, and academicians to disseminate knowledge and vital information to the public.
“This ensures that Malaysians are better equipped to defend themselves against financial fraud. It is time for a transformative shift in approach, moving away from reactive responses to proactive measures.
