Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted that he informed former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich that he should buy the Blues instead of Tottenham.
Eriksson was asked by Abramovich in 2003 whether he should go for Chelsea as his team to invest in at the time.
In a Paramount+ documentary Fever Pitch, Eriksson stated that if he wanted to win now, Abramovich should go for Chelsea as they would be easier to take to the top.
Eriksson said: He wanted me to give advice on which club to buy, Chelsea or Tottenham.
So I asked him: "What do you want to do with the club?". 'Win,' he said.
And I said to him 'If you want to win, Chelsea, because you only need to buy half a team'.
Then, I think within 24 hours... (he bought them)."
