SEMPORNA: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) seized 17 pumpboats and detained five individuals in separate operations in Semporna and Kunak on Wednesday, said its chief.
DCP Datuk Victor Sanjos, in a statement, said the operations aimed at combating the misuse of pump boats, the entry of illegal immigrants, smuggling, robbery, blast fishing and drug abuse in the Eastern Sabah Safety Zone.
Victor said the operations in both districts were carried out by 210 officers and members of federal, state and local authorities.
