JAKARTA - Etihad Airways has officially started a seasonal Abu Dhabi-Dhaka service on June 26, adding four weekly flights to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport through October 24.
The flights from Abu Dhabi to Dhaka will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Return flights from Dhaka to Abu Dhabi will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, giving travellers a direct link between the UAE and Bangladesh during the four-month schedule.
Etihad said the route will use Boeing 777 aircraft with 28 Business seats and 374 Economy seats. The widebody aircraft also adds belly-hold capacity for cargo moving between Bangladesh, the UAE and onward markets through Abu Dhabi.
Etihad Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves said, “Dhaka is a strategically important market, with strong and sustained demand across both passenger and cargo segments.”
Flight EY382 is scheduled to depart Abu Dhabi at 22:00 and arrive in Dhaka at 04:50. Flight EY383 is scheduled to depart Dhaka at 21:35 and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 00:40. Etihad said one-way fares from Abu Dhabi started at USD 199 at the time of the announcement.
The route serves passenger demand between the UAE and Bangladesh, including family travel and diaspora connections. Etihad said the UAE is home to one of the world’s largest Bangladeshi communities, with the new service also offering onward connections through Abu Dhabi.
The cargo link is tied to Bangladesh’s export economy. BGMEA data compiled from the Export Promotion Bureau shows Bangladesh exported USD 39.35 billion in ready-made garments in FY2024–25. In the latest available 2026-period data, RMG exports reached USD 35.31 billion from July to May of FY2025–26, down 3.41% year on year.
Etihad said the route will support cargo flows for Bangladesh’s garment and textile sector, giving exporters access through Abu Dhabi to markets across the Middle East, Europe and North America.
