BRUSSELS, June 15 — The European Union’s top court today dismissed legal actions from British citizens who had challenged their loss of EU citizens’ rights as a result of Brexit.

Many Britons who live and work in the EU have found their lives have become more complicated following Britain’s decision to quit the EU, including relating to work and residency permits.

However, the EU’s top court ruled they had no legal grounds to revoke the loss of their rights following Brexit.

“The Court concludes that the British citizens do not have an interest in bringing proceedings and that the General Court rightly rejected their actions as inadmissible,” it said.

Prior to Britain’s exit from the EU, around a million Britons lived in the bloc, according to data from the UK and Ireland. — Reuters
