Many people find Trump's desire to occupy Gaza to be outrageous, but I think there is nothing surprising in what Trump has said.
There is a movie called Tower Heist, where the hero, played by Ben Stiller, will enlist a thief, played by Eddie Murphy, to steal from a rich man, who Stiller blames for betraying his trust and the trust of many other people, by stealing from all of their retirement fund.
At one point of the movie, the Eddie Murphy character will attempt to steal from Ben Stiller himself, to which Ben Stiller will act surprised, as if he was betrayed by Eddie Murphy's treachery.
To this, Eddie Murphy will retort by saying something to the tune of, "I am not confused. It is you who is confused. I always knew I was a thief and I have always told you that I am a thief. It is you who stubbornly assumed otherwise without reason. "
In the same way, Trump has actually been very honest about who he is even from the very beginning.
It is everybody else who refused to believe him, for thinking that he is something that he has never said he was, that are confused.
People who act as if they are betrayed by Trump, are those who tend to not to believe Trump when he says that he doesn't really care about them – that he only cares about himself and those who support him - because they cannot believe that anybody cannot see their value and worth.
Trump himself, on the other hand, has always been clear and consistent about how he doesn't see the value or worth of anyone who doesn't support him.
At some point, people are going to have to wake up and realise that Trump is an honest man. Even if they think he is a monster, he is an honest monster.
If they believe otherwise - or in other words, if they believe that everybody, including Trump, will have to value them, because they think highly of themselves - they are bound to feel betrayed and bewildered in the next four years of Trump's reign.
