Everton boss Sean Dyche admits defeat to Fulham wasn't good enough.
Dyche says they reacted poorly after getting back to 1-1 via Dwight McNeil.
Afer the 3-1 loss, Dyche said: At half-time, we came out looking really bright, but their goal changed that.
It's a poor goal, a really poor goal. Just a lump into the box and we don't get across. They do, and they run after it. It's the basics of football and then they get a finish.
I was really disappointed more than anything with the reaction to that because we never really got a grip of the game again. We never really came back into the game.
We've done better since I came here and that was a step backwards, for me. The goals can go against you, but it's how you react to that."
Dyche also said: "The mentality has been really good and there has been a shift since I've been here.
"We don't want it to revert back to that feeling from before we got here, and there was a sign of that today - people dipping too quickly. We want that bravery to take games on.
"I reminded the players that no one gives you anything, don't think they will because they won't.
"We should react to that a lot better and we have done generally. But these are important times so we've got to make sure we correct that very quickly."
