Everton boss Sean Dyche has paid tribute to Bill Kenwright.
Kenwright passed away this week and ahead of their meeting with West Ham, Dyche took time to discuss the chairman.
Dyche said: "He was incredibly supportive. I was reading [David] Moyes' comments, how as a young manager how supportive he was...he was nothing but supportive even through some hard times.
"He's been someone to pick up the phone to you, always got time for you, always wanted to find out what's going on with you. Often telling me all his wisdom about Everton football club and what we should be doing. Always in a supportive way, I should be clear.
"Last season, we shared an moment that is an odd big moment. To stay up on the last day like in the fashion we did and to share that with him. That was a big moment and he felt probably differently than me on how big that was after a tough season for many different reasons. That was certainly a very big moment that he was certainly very pleased and very proud of.
"A lot of what I learnt about him wasn't actually about the football side. About the strength of what he'd done. I knew he was in that world but I didn't know how powerful it was. How many lives he'd touched along the way and what he does on that side of his life, not the football side.
"On the human level, he was a perfect gentleman and I always enjoyed listened to him about his stories, about his own life, not necessarily about Everton football club."
