Everton boss Sean Dyche is wary facing Luton Town on Saturday.
The Hatters secured a first point of the season last weekend against Wolves.
Dyche said, "They are working very hard in games, they are structured and trying to ask questions of the opposition.
"We certainly have to deliver a performance and we don't take anyone lightly, that's for sure.
"It is difficult. I've been down that road. It feels different, the beginning is exciting for everyone but if you're not getting those wins it feels difficult.
"There are no easy games. You have to be ruthless. When the whistle blows we have to be ruthless, deliver a performance. That's the reality of the Premier League."
He added: "I'm pleased with the attitude of the players to keep performing. I don't think there were any grimaces.
"We try to work in a way that bring consistency to what we do. It's small steps towards a bigger picture.
"The number of changes to the game last night, and the open-mindedness of the group towards it, is a good sign."
