Everton boss Sean Dyche admits building player relationships in preseason has helped them this term.
The Blues are beginning to put results together under Dyche.
The manage reflected: I think the helpful thing, slowly but surely, is we have worked with some of these players before. A couple might go over to Tarky, or Keano or Dwighty and go 'look I need to talk to the gaffer' and they will say 'go and talk to him and you will be fine'.
"I think it helps when you have someone who has already worked with you and I think it breaks down barriers, players go alright I can go and share whatever the view is and I think they know they can trust me above all else and the Burnley lads definitely know they can trust me."
He added: Last season was difficult. There was a lot going on, everyone was nervous, everyone was edgy, everyone was trying to get to the end outcome. Pre-season was a different situation. We had a good conversation with the players, this is how it is going to be, this is what we want, so I think pre-season brought out these different relationships and new ways of working and I think so far it has worked very well."
