Everton boss Sean Dyche concedes they must end the rut they're languishing in.

Ahead of their early season six-pointer against Wolves, Dyche admits things are going wrong on and off the pitch for the Toffees.

He said, "We have to change the story, it always starts on the pitch, it starts with me and the team, we haven't done that this season, we're two games in.

"We know we've got to work hard in the market, find way to make deals. We haven't got pots of gold. We need to try and find players that can do the job and make us strong.

"There's a lot of work to be done and there still is. that's an ongoing challenge here and that's going to continue.

"We make the players aware of the performance. As much as we give players information on the opposition we reaffirm to them, especially after the weekend, what we have to do and how we take on the game."

On what he wants against Wolves, Dyche also said: "The minimum is a better showing than last week. The physicality of the performance [last week], there wasn't any aggression. I said afterwards, don't be surprised to see us running around more than them, I was right.

"When it's a collective thing, they're the hardest things to change. Sometimes you have a couple [players] that's quiet but its hard when it's a collective thing.

"They have got the fight, spirit and confidence and I reminded them of that, we've had a tough start.

"You want to start games right, pre-season we started games right, I want to go back to that. You can't guarantee it's just a start but when that goes against you, you can't let that affect you as it did last week."
