Everton boss Frank Lampard admits Ben Godfrey is facing an extended time out after suffering an injury in defeat to Chelsea.

Godfrey was taken to hospital after being forced off.

Lampard said, "It feels like it's a small facture, lower down. We're assessing it. It looks like he's going to be out for a while. We had a bit of that last season unfortunately. We'll have to get through that."

On Everton's debutants, Lampard also sad: “[Nathan Patterson] was confident and positive in his play. He's going to get a lot better.

"Tarky [James Tarkowski] was great - calm and confident on the ball and he stood out like he did in pre-season."
