Everton captain Seamus Coleman was delighted proving the matchwinner against Leeds.
Coleman struck for the 1-0 win on Saturday.
He said, "We didn't go away from what we have been working from since the manager came in and we did that today and thankfully we got the win.
"When I was down there I suppose everyone was expecting the cross but the way my hip was feeling I couldn't wrap my leg around it so I just thought I'd have a shot because I knew he'd be anticipating the cross. Thankfully I caught it well, I wouldn't catch it like that if I tried again another 10 times. We got what we deserved to be honest."
On whether the melee helped Everton's momentum, he added: "It can go either way, you can gain momentum or lose momentum. We want to show we are all together and all fighting and we have to give our fans something to support and when we do you saw them at the end there. Throughout the match they were massive. It's three points and we move onto the next one game by game."
