Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell believes Stanley Mills can push for a first-team spot this season.
The 18-year-old, son of ex-England international Danny Mills, signed a new three-year contract at the club.
"This new contract is reward for Stanley's encouraging progress at Everton," Thelwell told the club's website.
"He took his chance to impress Frank and his staff during the summer and we are looking forward to him continuing to develop and keep pushing to be involved with the first team this season."
