Everton have jumped ahead of West Ham United for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.
West Ham were closing on a deal for the youngster.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting Everton are now favourites to sign Onana.
Lille had accepted a €40m offer from West Ham, but Onana was refusing the move.
The 20-year-old has consistently preferred Everton to West Ham and is now very close to agreeing to a move.
Onana scored three goals and produced one assist in 41 competitive games for Lille last season.
