Everton shot stopper Jordan Pickford believes the club has to treat their run-in as if every game is a cup final.
The Toffees have eight games remaining to save their season and stay in the Premier League.
While boss Sean Dyche has led a mini revival, Pickford knows any slips in the coming weeks could doom them.
Speaking after a loss to Manchester United on Saturday, he told club media: "We know we can give so much more as a unit. To come to Old Trafford, sometimes we need to step up to the plate a bit more but we know they're a top side. Coming to Manchester United is always going to be tough."
He added: "We had a game plan, but so did United and sometimes you have to hold your hands up. The good thing is the game wasn't dead in the first half and we still had that opportunity in the second when it was only 1-0.
We've got to keep grafting and working hard... We probably needed a better mentality, but we were still in the game at 1-0 and then the second goal kind of killed it really. That's what I'm there to do, make saves when called upon, but as a team unit we need to be better and we know that as well. We've got eight games left; eight finals, you can call them."
