Everton manager Frank Lampard questioned the "grey area" of the rules of VAR after his side's loss to Newcastle United.
Lampard felt his side could have earned a penalty in the game, which would have given them a gilt-edged chance to equalize.
He felt that Anthony Gordon had been fouled by Dan Burn, who took the man but did not get any touch on the ball.
Post-game, Lampard told reporters: "My fear with that is everybody's looking at Anthony and rejecting any penalty straightaway, because if it's a foul of a nudge in the back and the touch on the foot then for me that's a penalty but I think VAR is there to re-look.
“This thing of clear and obvious is a grey area that we don't need. It's a penalty or it's not and I felt it was a foul, personally."
