Everton supporters should try to get behind the team rather than booing them during games, says James Garner.

The Blues are in the process of appealing their ten-point deduction by the Premier League.

As a result, they are still battling relegation and are only out of the drop zone on goal difference at present.

Asked about boos after their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at home on Monday, Garner replied: I can understand the fans' frustrations.

But there is so long to go [in the season], and we need the fans to be supporting us and not booing us. That is important going forward."

We knew it wasn't going to be an easy game, but I feel like it is one that has definitely got away from us," he added.

"It was a very frustrating night.

They are a good side and I'm not sure whether we were off the pace, but we did create a few chances and didn't manage to put them away.

The last 20 minutes was a lot better and something that we need to build on and look to be doing for the whole 90 minutes."
