Per The Sun, if their boss Erik ten Hag pushes the club to bid for Pickford, Everton would turn to Johnstone.
Pickford had previously committed his future to the Toffees even before they were safe from relegation.
However, a move to the Red Devils may be too difficult for him to turn down.
