Manchester City conceded three goals in an extraordinary second-half collapse at Everton that hands Arsenal the advantage in the Premier League title race despite a late fightback that rescued a point.
Pep Guardiola’s side recovered to snatch a 3-3 draw at the Hill Dickinson Stadium but the damage was done when Everton substitute Thierno Barry scored a quickfire double either side of a Jake O’Brien header on a thrilling night.
Erling Haaland pulled one goal back before Jeremy Doku equalised in the 97th minute, but it still leaves Arsenal five points clear having played a game more than City and means Mikel Arteta’s side will be champions with three more wins.
Guardiola accepted City’s fate is no longer “in our hands” but Haaland was heard telling his team-mates the title is “still there” before facing Brentford on Saturday and Arsenal visiting relegation-threatened West Ham on Sunday.

The turning point was an awful error from a player who had been almost impeccable in his City career. Everton’s equaliser could be attributed to a Moyes change, bringing on Thierno Barry for Beto, but it owed more to a horribly under-hit back-pass by Marc Guehi. The substitute advanced to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma. The striker had been flagged offside when Merlin Rohl tried to find him; but Guehi’s deliberate, if misjudged, intervention meant the goal stood. David Moyes on Everton's fightback and late Man City equaliser

David Moyes’s side could have been in the race for Champions League without those dropped points. Mixed feeling for the Everton manager, speaking to Sky Sports:
“We let ourselves down because we defended the second goal so poorly. That was probably the main reason for it.
"But at half-time we would have taken this result because we were hugely outplayed in the first half.
"Getting a point against City is not a bad result, but when you're 3-1 up you think you're in with a great chance of winning."

18:37 , Richard JollyLast week, Manchester City were frustrated to find they will have to play three games in six days in the title run-in after two rearranged games were announced either side of the FA Cup final.
City believe the Premier League’s principle for rescheduling matches has not been followed as it was announced they will host Crystal Palace on 13 May and travel to Bournemouth on 19 May.
In between, Pep Guardiola’s team, who are battling with Arsenal to become champions, visit Wembley on 16 May for the FA Cup final against Chelsea, giving them two trips to the south.
City feel their match against Palace, which was due to be played on the weekend when Guardiola’s side instead beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final, had not been rearranged sooner.

Beto had been involved in every one of Everton’s matches this season before missing last weekend’s loss at West Ham having sustained swelling below his eye in the Merseyside derby.
That interrupted a strong run of form from Beto, who has scored seven goals since the turn of the year, four in his last three appearances.
“Even today, he’s always asking and trying to find out where and if we thought he could do better,” Moyes said. “Other staff members work with him individually as well, because that’s what he actually wants, he wants extra work and he wants to try and get better.
“It’s great when you work with people who are always trying to improve and trying to step up. He’s started to score a few goals and we hope he can continue that.”

With that in mind, City need to respond to Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Fulham. Arsenal’s goal difference of +41 is now four better than Manchester City’s +37, but that would come down if Pep Guardiola’s side win their two games in hand.
