What’s the next big thing? Still AI?

That’s usually where the conversation lands. Every week there’s a new tool, a new model, a new game-changer app promising to do our jobs for us. It’s hard to escape.

AI has been around for quite some time now and some people think it’s still at the infant stage.

Fair enough. Maybe it is still early days. Maybe there’s a version five, ten years from now that will make today’s tools look like toys. But there is a thing that gets lost in all the hype.

It’s still artificial intelligence, not real. And will always stay that way.

No matter how fluent it sounds, no matter how convincingly it mimics a certain tone or style, it’s still working off patterns. It doesn’t feel the deadline pressure. It doesn’t carry the weight of a bad year, or the relief of a good one.

The real intelligence is in humans.

We’re the ones who lived it. We’re the ones who know what it’s like to sit with a blank page and a full heart, trying to find the right words for something that actually happened to us.

So, my prediction for the next big thing is HI, Human Intelligence.

Call it a contrarian take if you want. Everyone’s racing toward more automation, and I’m here saying the real premium, going forward, will be on the opposite. On the human fingerprint. On things a machine can copy the shape of, but never the substance.

And if you ask me, the world could use a little more of it. Especially in writing.

Think about the last time something you read actually moved you. Chances are it wasn’t polished to perfection. It probably had a rough edge, an odd turn of phrase, a moment where you could feel the writer hesitate before saying the hard thing. That’s not a flaw, it’s the whole point.

Anyone can prompt a machine to spit out words. But words that carry your real voice, your real story, your real struggle? That still takes a human who knows how to listen.

Listening is underrated in this business. Before I write a single line for anyone, I ask questions. I sit with the answers. I try to hear not just what someone says, but what they mean underneath it, the story they haven’t quite figured out how to tell yet.

That’s the kind of writing I do. 100% human, every word. 🧠

So while the rest of the world debates what AI will do next, I’ll be over here betting on HI. Because at the end of the day, people don’t remember content. They remember how something made them feel. And that, no machine has figured out how to fake, at least not yet.
