NABAWAN: Former Sabah Border Scouts welcomed the State Government’s proposal to revive the force.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said recently the State Government is studying the proposal, as part of additional security measures that will benefit the people and investors.
Malaysian Ex-Police Association Nabawan branch secretary Jimmy Libau, 71, said as a former member, he knew the significant role the Border Scouts had played at the time.
“While being a member of the Border Scouts, also known as the Forest Police Team (PPH), from Jan 15, 1966 to Nov 30, 1990, I had many experiences related to the country’s border control with neighbours Indonesia (Kalimantan) and the Philippines,” he said when asked to comment on the Chief Minister’s statement when met at the Nabawan Malaysian Ex-Police Association office, here.
