Former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill is convinced by the potential of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

Cahill insists the pair will continue to improve.

He told Parimatch: I think the midfield partnership between Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo is only going to get better and better the more they play with each other. Everything is easier when things are going well for the team and this is a tough time.

"Enzo is an experienced player so there will be lots of players in that dressing room looking to him to get them through this tough moment.

For Caicedo, it will be a matter of progressing and getting back to the levels that we have seen from him previously. I still think he is adapting at the club and I can speak from experienced because I moved to Chelsea from a smaller club in Bolton.

"In some ways it is easier because you're surrounded by better players, but it is also harder because of the pressure and the flack that you get when you're not getting results. He's still adapting to the club as a whole after moving from a club like Brighton."
