Former Congress MLA from Faridkot Kushaldeep Dhillon has appeared for interrogation in the zonal office of Enforcement Directorate, Jalandhar, on Wednesday. He reached there by 11 am after summons were issued to him recently.

The ED shall be questioning him on the basis of a disproportionate assets case against him which was lodged by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in May 2023.

Dhillon was arrested for reportedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his tenure as MLA from 2017 to 2022. The VB had then claimed that he had spent around 242–245 per cent more than his declared income and had allegedly acquired properties through other persons.

The ED officials had about two weeks ago said that Dhillon had been evading its summon notice. The ex-MLA, however, had then maintained that no one from the central agency had so far contacted him or reached out to him with any summons.
