Former cricketer and actor Yograj Singh has filed an application for anticipatory bail in a case registered against him in Chandigarh over alleged derogatory remarks against women made in a viral clip from a web series.
The court has issued notices to the state for filing a reply on May 20.
The Sector 36 police registered the FIR under Sections 79 of the BNS and 62-A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The complaint, a local advocate, has stated that the remarks in the clip allegedly made by Yograj are not only indecent but also perpetuate misogyny, undermining societal respect for women.
