Kota Kinabalu: Former Daily Express News Editor Eddy Hiew @ Kamarulzaman bin Abdullah (pic), 77, passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) 2 at 9.05pm on Saturday (Oct 30).
Eddy, who was well-known in the media fraternity, was a Principal at SMK Weston before switching to journalism.
He also served the Sabah Times and the News Straits Times as its Sabah bureau head. He has won journalism awards at both state and national level.
He leaves behind five children and seven grandchildren. His remains were buried at the Muslim cemetery in Sembulan around noon on Sunday.
