Everton hero Michael Ball insists the club should feel aggrieved over the refereeing for Saturday's derby defeat at Liverpool.
The visitors had Ashley Young sent off before Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate escaped dismissal after hauling down Beto. The Reds also won and converted a penalty after a VAR call.
Ball wrote for the Liverpool Echo: "I am still struggling to come to terms with Saturday's derby defeat.
"You always know it is going to be difficult when you go to Anfield, history has shown us that. Even when we were a top side back in the 80s, it was always a hard place to go. Regardless of that, you always head there with hope you can put up a fight and get a bit of luck here and there.
"We never seem to get the decisions at Anfield and our players probably already know that. But that doesn't make it right. Any 50/50 decision during the derby was going Liverpool's way, and that's seemed to happen for years.
"You hold your hands up if you are beaten fair and square, but I felt that wasn't the case as the referee had a major say."
