KUALA LUMPUR: A former intelligence chief and a senior Malaysian Armed Forces officer are among several individuals to be charged in court today in a major corruption case.
Sources said the charges will be heard this morning in separate courts in Kuala Lumpur and Seremban.
Former director of military intelligence Datuk Mohd Razali Alias is scheduled to be charged before Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court Judge Suzana Hussin.
A senior MAF officer is to be charged before Criminal Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad at the same time.
In a related development, two individuals arrested under ‘Op Nature’ will be charged in the Seremban Criminal Sessions Court.
One is a foreigner and the other holds the title of Datuk.
Meanwhile, a civil servant arrested in ‘Op Pump’ will be brought before the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.
Op Nature was conducted simultaneously by the Selangor and Negeri Sembilan MACC in Klang and Nilai on Jan 20.
Op Pump saw the MACC arrest 37 enforcement agency officers suspected of colluding with a syndicate.
They are accused of using ‘counter setting’ or special lanes to bring foreign nationals into the country through air entry points.
