Former Manchester City assistant coach Domenec Torrent admits Ilkay Gundogan would regularly ask him about Barcelona.
The midfielder has this week agreed a Bosman move with Barca.
Torrent told Jijantes: "Before City's celebrations for the treble, Gndogan asked me about Barcelona, the club and the city.
"He also told me that he was in contact with Lewy (Robert Lewandowski)."
Torrent was in charge of Galatasaray last year.
