Former Manchester City midfielder Michael Brown feels Cole Palmer can earn a regular place this season.
Palmer struck in last night's UEFA Super Cup win against Sevilla.
Brown told City's website: "He did impress. And later on in the second half he actually turned, he pushed the line, he went through some legs and he was into the box just got caught up but that type of run and that type of service and getting into those positions, having the confidence to go through people, will get better.
Obviously a couple of goals is going to help his confidence. We know the ability is there, he's better than any young player, we've seen it with Phil Foden and we see Cole Palmer, he attracted everyone's attention straight away for how good he is on the ball.
Hopefully he can make that position you don't just sort of get it your own but you can make it that you're going to be a regular much more than last season."
