In a surprising incident, a car of former MLA and Congress leader Jasbir Mallour was stolen by an unidentified person from outside his house in Ambala City early in the morning. However, the vehicle was found parked on the National Highway after a few hours, before even the FIR was registered.
Former MLA Jasbir Mallour said “I was scheduled to go to Chandigarh today, but around 8 am I found my Innova vehicle missing. It was parked outside the house and when we checked the CCTV cameras, we found that the vehicle was stolen around 3.40 am. I contacted the SHO of Sector-9 police station and soon after, the police launched the search operation. Around 11 am, the vehicle was found parked near the Jaggi City Centre on the National Highway.”
“Since there was a sticker of Ex-MLA on the car, and police had started checking, the thief may have realised that he would be in trouble soon, and he left the car on the road. But he had damaged it from the inside. I urge the police department to issue instructions to the welfare associations and officials concerned to ensure that the gates of the sectors are properly manned, the CCTV cameras and the street lights are functional. A case has been registered by the police, and they are investigating the matter,” he said.
Meanwhile, SHO of Sector 9 police station Sunita Dhaka said “Around 8 am, information regarding the former MLA Jasbir Mallour’s missing vehicle was received. Following the information, a search operation was launched on different routes. During the investigation, CCTV footage was scanned and the vehicle was found parked on the National Highway. Efforts are being made to trace the accused.”
