Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is among the very best in the Premier League this season.
That is the view of the club's ex-captain Kevin Nolan, who also starred in the Premier League for Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United.
Nolan, who is presently the first team coach with West Ham, was asked about midfielders who have impressed him this term.
"I was really impressed with Bruno Guimaraes last week," Nolan told talkSPORT.
"I thought he was excellent against us. He should have been sent off. I thought the referee was really poor but I thought he was excellent.
"I think James Ward-Prowse has been excellent, obviously. I don't know how many people are putting out stats like he has been this season."
