Former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll is happy with his football at Ligue 2 Amiens.

Carroll has a deal to 2025 and L'Equipe says he would be open to extending it.

I love living here," said the 35 year-old. "It's peaceful, it's relaxed. Everyone is nice. Obviously, it's a very small town. So you see everyone, all the time, they recognize you and you can have conversations.

"It's a nice way of life. That's exactly what I wanted. At this stage of my life I just want to relax and enjoy my life, my football. I couldn't have chosen a better place.

There are a few good pubs that I enjoy for watching football. I watched Champions League matches there, especially when Newcastle were playing. There's nothing here I don't like.

I would obviously like to have one more year at Amiens. If not, I will look for an opportunity to play elsewhere. Right now, I'm not looking to retire. I like playing football."
