Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has taken aim at Barcelona coach Xavi.
Canizares has questioned Xavi's credentials.
He told Radio Marca: "I don't know if Xavi is qualified to lead Barcelona's ship. I don't know yet. He has the experience that he has been a great footballer and he is very culé, but he has not shown us that he can handle it.
"He has not done very good things in other clubs or where he has done it does not have much merit because it is a minor football.
"Barça hired Xavi to buy time and attend the markets to renew the squad.
"I have many doubts about him because he has not yet shown that he is up to what Barça wants: to command in Europe and in Spain."
