Former Sevilla sports director Oscar Arias has questioned the appointment of new coach Jose Luis Mendilibar.
Mendilibar has replaced Jorge Sampaoli, signing to the end of the season.
Arias said, "Mendilibar is not a coach for a squad like Sevilla's.
"(But) what he can contribute as a coach, order and discipline, may be what the team needs."
On Sevilla's relegation battle, he also said: It is difficult to explain. It will not be one thing, it will be several. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong.
"Everything is already in doubt and nothing is believed, a team like Sevilla is not prepared for that."
