- Former Brookside actor Philip Foster, 51, has been arrested in Alicante, Spain, following an international law enforcement operation.
- Foster, also known as Philip Dowd, played Christian Wright in more than 60 episodes of the Channel 4 soap in the 1990s.
- Foster was sentenced in his absence in February 2025 to eight-and-a-half years in prison for masterminding a £13.6 million modelling agency fraud.
- The scam exploited over 6,000 aspiring models and their families, charging large sums for worthless photographs under false promises of work.
- The National Crime Agency said that Foster, who will be extradited to the UK, was the 102nd fugitive apprehended under its Most Wanted campaign.
