Former Spartak Moscow owner Andriy Chervichenko says Mykaylo Mudryk could develop into a better player than Andriy Shevchenko.

Chervichenko admits he was impressed by the 100m signing's Chelsea debut at Liverpool on Saturday.

He told RB Sport: "I watched how Mudryk came out in the game against Liverpool, he is really very good. One might think that this is a political transfer, a lot of money. I freaked out when he went on. The boy is just a star.

"He gives, he runs. If nothing happens mentally, he will be better than Shevchenko. He entered the game without hesitation, everything is in place and to the point.

"There are, perhaps, problems in the perception of a football player - all in tattoos, he looks a little strange, he is a very young guy. I started watching with a negative initial perception, but the way he showed himself, I am impressed."
