Former Tottenham scout David Webb has recalled how close they came to sign Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane.
Mane left Liverpool last summer for Bayern after winning almost everything in the game.
Asked about their near misses, Webb told talkSPORT: "Moussa Dembele (Lyon) and Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich).
"It's from the time I was there. Those were the two prominent players.
"Sadio Man was another, but Liverpool snapped him up. Pochettino otherwise had a relationship with him from Southampton.
"That was definitely a factor. Tottenham were quite close, but Liverpool snapped him up."
