SHAH ALAM, Jan 15 — State executive councillor for welfare Anfaal Saari today cautioned the public against unofficial and invalid information on Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) shared on Facebook or WhatsApp.

She said those who want to apply for the state financial aid programme should only do so via official channels — the official website and the Selangkah app.

“Bingkas applicants are reminded to be cautious. The state government has never made any Facebook page for Bingkas offers.

“I urge the public intending to apply for the assistance to use only the two official channels to avoid being deceived by syndicates,” she told Media Selangor.

Anfaal added that while the state government has requested that Facebook remove such pages, unscrupulous individuals keep making new ones.

“I urge the public to report these fake pages to us if they come across any, so further action can be taken,” she said.

Bingkas is one of 46 initiatives under the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang programme launched in 2022, replacing the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor and Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (Ibu Tunggal) schemes.

Last year, the criteria for new Bingkas applicants were relaxed, by raising the household income limit from RM3,000 to RM5,000, to benefit more families.
