Kota Kinabalu: The growing trend of Sabahans, especially youths, migrating to the peninsula yearly for job opportunities has reduced human capital assets in Sabah.
Inevitably, this would cripple the development of Sabah as Sabah recorded a high migration rate to Selangor and Johor involving 45,900 people in 2020 due to lack of job opportunities.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said to maintain human capital in Sabah, HRD Corp held special programmes and even expanded the roles of Human Resources Development Berhad (PMSB) in Sabah to produce competent human capital.
