Its the time of the year again. Yass! Ramadan. What do we do when its Ramadan? Apart from Taraweeh prayers, there's always food. Iftar is the best time of the day!
Iftar is the evening meal that Muslims have to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. The meal is traditionally started by eating dates and drinking water, followed by a variety of dishes and drinks
In spite of the many pricey Ramadan buffets around, I was very careful to choose for Iftar. With many of us lamenting on the high cost of food now I did not eat out only till Ramadan Day 10.
BabulanKL located 67, Jalan Setia Bakti, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, is the perfect place for date nights or chilling with friends. I chose this place after my neighbor posted in her Instagram so I decided to give it a try.
Bear in mind that Babulan is Pork free as they do serve alcoholic beverages at their bar.
They served the iftar sets priced at RM40 and RM50 each. With this price in mind, I thought that it was quite reasonable.
I ordered the pumpkin soup with the spaghetti because did not want to have too heavy of an iftar. The spaghetti was very creamy and nice.
While my mother ordered the Butter Chicken Masala and tasted delicious. Everything was well spiced and just right.
Another friend ordered Mutton Briyani. It came as is and there's no need for gravy as everything was packed inside it. Again, the taste was superb.
I ordered pineapple lassi. Just wanted to try out something new. I have heard of mango lassi before but the taste was very nice. The dried fruit on top of my drink was dried slice of pineapple. I bit into it and it was sweet. Not bad at all.
All in all, after meeting with the owner, I complimented on the cooking and recommend if anyone wanted to try out should go.
