Kota Kinabalu: Warisan Vice President Datuk Junz Wong and Information Chief Datuk Azis Jamman have called on the Sabah Government to reconsider the Sept 30 eviction deadline for remaining residents of the Tanjung Aru low-cost flats.
In a joint press conference Friday, the opposition leaders highlighted the plight of approximately 90 households still residing in the ageing housing complex.
The Sabah Housing and Town Development Board (LPPB) initially issued eviction notices to 315 families in May 2021, citing structural safety concerns in the 1970s-built flats.
“We hope the Government can at least consider giving them time until the next school term,” said Wong. Support Independant Journalism Subscribe to Daily Express Malaysia 1-Year: Premium PlanRM180.00 / yearSubscribe Already a subscriber? Unlock this Article, Sign In Here
