The additional coach will be attached from Tirunelveli between June 15 and June 29, while from Katra it will run from June 18 to July 2.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal said, “Due to the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage and increased passenger traffic during the summer season, heavy rush is being witnessed in trains. Keeping the inconvenience faced by passengers in mind, Jammu Division has taken a prompt decision to provide one additional Third AC coach each in the Himsagar Express operating on the Kanyakumari-Katra route and the Tirunelveli Express running on the Tirunelveli-Katra route.”
He said the move would not only reduce waiting lists but also improve the chances of passengers getting confirmed berths.
“Passenger safety, convenience and punctual train operations have always been the priority of the Railways. Our effort is to ensure that pilgrims enjoy a comfortable journey,” he added.
