PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry has announced additional school holidays in conjunction with Deepavali, which falls on Sunday, Nov 8, this year.
Schools in Group A states — Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu — will have an additional holiday on Monday, Nov 9.
Schools in Group B states and federal territories will get an extra day off on Tuesday, Nov 10, following the replacement public holiday on Monday.
Group B comprises Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah and Selangor, as well as Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
Sarawak, where Deepavali is not observed as a public holiday, will also have a school holiday on Monday, Nov 9, according to the ministry.
